A comprehensive training course exploring the key principles and practical application of Admiralty and Maritime Law.
This distance learning Foundation Diploma, delivered over 6 months, provides a thorough knowledge and understanding of the key principles of Admiralty Law. It analyses the commercial, safety and environmental issues which shape maritime law.
As well as gaining insight into the business practices, codes and regulations which underpin maritime law, you will learn:
- How to deal confidently with claims arising from collisions
- The workings of salvage and towage operations
- Up-to-date knowledge of oil pollution liability
- How to understand general average, its rules and practical application

The course consists of ten study modules which are delivered over a 26 week period and includes breaks for holidays (or extra study time) and assignment preparation. Full tutorial support is provided via the online learning management system.
