David is a Regional Chairman in the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK).

John has a BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Surrey UK, a Mate’s ticket after serving in the UK Merchant Marine with Blue Star Line and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

He has extensive experience in business analysis and business process re-engineering; in managing people, from multi-cultural teams of Subject Matter Experts to unionised blue collar work forces; in project management; in health and safety; in terminal equipment maintenance and software development including out-sourcing.

He is currently an independent consultant, based in Melbourne, Australia, and is also an Associate Consultant for Thompson Clarke Shipping, Australia's leading maritime consultancy firm.

Kevin has over 40 years operational experience in the marine industry both ashore and afloat. Actual president of the International Harbour Masters Association (IHMA), Kevin holds a Master Mariner (Class 1) Foreign Going Certificate of Competency, National Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), Level 5 Oil Spill Management qualification, a GMDSSS Certificate and is a qualified ISO BS EN 9002 auditor. He is an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute and member of the UKTI Port Advisory Group - a government sponsored focus group supporting the UK’s ports industry.

Kevin is an experienced transport and logistics professional with over 20 years’ experience of logistics and supply chain operations at locations around the world covering a wide range of cargo types and transport modes.

Kevin is currently the Managing Director of his own logistics and supply chain training and consultancy company.

Neil leads the faculty for the Diploma in Port Management and is a highly experienced ports, shipping and logistics professional with over 30 years’ experience working in the maritime and logistics sector. Throughout his career Neil has delivered major international port projects across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. He is Managing Director of IVOPS Ltd., focussed on supplying operational expertise to owners and operators of container vessels and operations development consultancy and training to container terminal operators.

Neil is currently the Independent Non-Executive Director of Dover Harbour Board, overseeing the administration and maintenance of the Port of Dover and since his return to the UK from the Far East, he has used his skills, expertise and experience to benefit his local area; promoting and developing the maritime business sector in the Thames and Channel region with a particular emphasis on training and development.

Charles Swanson
Security and Risk Management Consultant

Charles has a Master's degree in Security and Risk Management, is a Fellow of the Security Institute (where he sits on the Academic Board), and is a specialist with the Institute of Risk Management.

He served with the Royal Military Police for 22 years specialising in security, and since 2003 has been heavily involved in maritime security, concentrating on counter-terrorism and anti-piracy strategies.
