Allan Larsen

Allan is a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Marine Engineer with thirty years of marine industry experience. Allan is registered with FEANI, The Engineering Council, RINA, IMarEST and the Society of Consulting Marine Engineers and Ships Surveyors. 

Of his thirty year career Allan served fifteen years with the major Classification Society Bureau Veritas acting as a ship surveyor (all marks and all notations) and as Head of Section for Casualties, Damages and Repairs. Allan has also achieved certification in many auditing systems including ISO9001,ILO-MLC, ISM,ISPS, ISO 50001, BS18000 and BS 14000. 

Currently Allan is the Managing Director of Larsens Marine Surveyors and Consultants Ltd serving the maritime  insurance, legal , training and, recreation sectors of the marine industry as a surveyor, auditor and expert witness.

Ana Maria Jaller-Makarewicz
Energy Consultant and Training Facilitator

Ana Maria Jaller-Makarewicz has more than 25 years’ experience in the electrical and gas sectors, in consultancy and in Academia. She has a BSc and MSc in Electrical Engineering.

She worked at Electric Utilities in Colombia and then at the Universidad de Norte, as Chairman of the Electrical Engineering Programme, developing research projects and participating in energy events. Later she entered into the Natural Gas sector, as Director of Sales and Marketing, promoting the use of gas based on technical and economical analysis. As a Business Analyst for Energy Markets, she worked very closely on the development of the European Gas Model.

She has worked on electricity and gas regulations in Bosnia & Herzegovina, and been adviser to Nigeria’s Presidential Task Force on Power and agencies involved in the reform of the power and gas markets.

Since 2013 she has focused on her role as a trainer, delivering Energy Training programmes in Africa, Asia, Middle East, Latin America and Europe

john preedy

John Preedy PhD 
Associate, Azur Offshore

Dr. John Preedy worked for BP for 28 years as a Research Associate and Team Leader, working on feasibility studies and acting as a “trouble shooter” covering all aspects of BP’s businesses.

His experience included field development projects in the North Sea and several novel resource recovery techniques, which were taken from concept to field pilot trials in Canada. His specific work in the offshore area covered subsea robotics/automation, seabed production concepts, seabed excavation methods, underwater repair techniques, flexible riser studies and maintenance cost reductions.

Since leaving BP in 1992 John has continued working in the offshore oil industry through Azur Offshore Ltd, including activities in the assessment of emerging novel technologies, technical and economics audits, deepwater studies, production sharing agreement evaluations, safety and environmental issues. Clients have included Chevron UK, BP Exploration, British Gas, Technomare, Trident Consultants, Fina UK and Cameron France.

Past projects have included safety reviews for Chevron North Sea, production sharing contract reviews in Nigeria, subsea team with FPSO and tie-back options for Total’s Otter Field, technical reviews for Ivory Coast FPSO and training and operations instruction for BP Greater Plutonio, Angola.

Dr Shedid A Shedid PhD
Consultant & Professor of Petroleum Engineering

Dr. Shedid has more than 24 years experience as a professor and consultant in oil and gas engineering. He has conducted consultation and research projects in the USA, Australia, Egypt, and the UAE. He has written two books and published numerous scientific papers developing and analysing new techniques and industry models to solve real industry problems.

werner brinkmann

Werner Brinkmann

Werner has over 32 years of experience in the maritime disciplines, both as Consultant and Employer. After obtaining his BSc and MSc at Abeltasman & INHolland in Delfzijl & Rotterdam, he then obtained his PhD at the University of Delft. He also give lectures and training to specialists in the nuclear medical world regarding safety and use when adjusting isotopic medical equipment.

In addition, Werner has spent 12 years in maritime education as a senior teacher, first at the Deltion College, and later at STC Hanze Maritiem as an education manager.

Today Werner runs a consultancy firm blueconsultancymeppel.nl that works all over the world.
